WHAT’S ON IN BALDERNOCK IN FEBRUARY 

On Sundays ► Trailblazers (for children aged 3 to 12) meet in the Church Hall, Balmore, 11.00am-12 noon, or children can go to Church first and will be taken to the Hall from there. Margaret Bannatyne (01360 622295) has more information.

Friday 3rd February ► Friday Coffee Morning – always on the first Friday of the month. For venues and other details, and to be added to the mailing list, contact Marlene Clark at marlene.clark@talktalk.net or on 01360 622496.

Saturday 4th February ►Baldernock Ramblers meet on the first Saturday of the month, from February to November. Call Neil McNair (0141 942 2656) for more information.

Monday 6th February Youth Club Outing to SNO!zone  Call Mags Harwood on 01360 620369 for more information. (The Youth Club Programme for January/ February is attached.)

Wednesday 8th February ► Baldernock Community Association meeting in Balmore Church Hall, 7pm. All welcome. (Minutes of last meeting attached.)

Saturday 18th February ► Ladies’ (and their dogs) walking group meets for a walk and coffee on the third Saturday morning of every month. Contact Lesley at lesley.wiseman@hotmail.com or 01360 620359.

Monday 20th February Youth Club, Church Hall, Balmore, 7pm. The programme for January/ February is attached. Call Mags on 01360 620369 for more information.

NEW LOOK FOR BALDERNOCK WEBSITE

The Baldernock Website has been made easier to use. Have a look at www.baldernock.org.uk  where there is information on community organisations and events. You can sign up as a member of the site which gives you access to the online swap and share facility. You can also sign up to receive alerts for local events. If you have any good photographs of Baldernock and you'd like them to appear on the website, please send them to jean.langhorne@btinternet.com.

CLOSURE OF KELVIN FOOTBRIDGE

East Dunbartonshire Council has closed the footbridge over the Kelvin because it is not safe: the bridge will be replaced but we don’t know when. If you are concerned about the loss of this pedestrian and cycle link to the canal and footpath to Torrance, get in touch with Councillor Anne McNair at anne.mcnair@eastdunbarton.gov.uk.

BALDERNOCK PRIMARY SCHOOL ON FACEBOOK

Jan Patience has set up a facebook group, Friends of Baldernock Primary School. It can be used to share information, memories  and pictures of the school. The address is https://www.facebook.com/groups/baldernockprimaryfriends/

This newsletter is emailed to residents and friends of Baldernock every month. If you are planning a community event, please email a few sentences to Celia (celiab@fsmail.net), Jean (jean.langhorne@btinternet.com) or Lesley (lesley.wiseman@hotmail.com) by the 21st day of the month (except December which is by the 16th).   

·         We would like the newsletter to reach every resident of Baldernock, so please forward it to any family and friends who don’t receive it (including others in your household), and ask them to contact us to be added to the emailing list.

·         If you would prefer not to receive the newsletter, please just let us know.

·         If a neighbour or friend doesn’t have access to email, we can deliver a paper copy to them each month. Just phone Celia (01360 620220), Jean (01360 620300) or Lesley (01360 620359) to arrange this.

·         Copies of the newsletter are also available at Balmore Coach House.
